chiropractic Adjustments

In able to talk about what a chiropractic adjustment is, we have to understand what a Chiropractor is. A Chiropractor is a musculo-skeletal expert. They focus on the way the body moves with particular emphasis placed on the spine. The spine is one of  the most important structures in the body because it carries every impulse and command from the brain into the rest of the body via the spinal cord and nerves. These signals often times get interrupted due to compression or irritation from last of motion or fixation of a particular vertebrae in the spine. that irritation of compression causes pain and disfunction throughout the body.  Chiropractors call that systematic issue a subluxation. One of the primary jobs of a chiropractor is to find subluxations and fix them. Chiropractors focus on the root cause of the issue rather then chasing symptoms and covering up the real problem.

So just what is a Chiropractic adjustment? Chiropractic adjustments are the way Chiropractors are able to remove subluxations. A Chiropractor uses their hands to deliver a quick thrust into the spine that restores movement and ultimately reduces nerve interference. These adjustments result in better function and less pain. Chiropractic adjustments can be made at any point along the spine and in the extremities, including the arms, legs, feet, and hands, to name a few.

neuromuscular re-education

Your nerves and muscles work together to produce movement. Your nerves send the signal to activate and your muscles contract in response causing movement.  As time goes by movement patterns are established in your body mechanics memory. These patterns are often disrupted after a injury, causing new biomechanically damaging patterns to become the new normal. neuromuscular re-education helps to reset that memory to a healthy pattern. The treatment style will vary for each patient depending on the issue at hand. Examples of this treatment are proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, balance and core control exercises, therapeutic exercises, and more.

wellness care

Wellness care is post-treatment care in which you no longer have pain or dysfunction. The goal of this type of care is to keep you in that state. You can think of wellness care as preventative treatment. Wellness care seeks out dysfunction and treats it before it becomes symptomatic in the body. Prevention of pain and dysfunction is always faster and simpler to treat than waiting until symptoms or pain develops. This type of care is recommended for all walks of life.
